Terms of service
Shipping Policy
At Flute Feather Flower, we take great care in selecting, packing, and shipping your dahlia tubers and cuttings so they arrive in the best condition possible.
Dahlia tubers are shipped during fall and spring, as weather conditions allow. Each tuber is individually labeled, either directly on the tuber or on its individual packaging, and carefully packed for shipment. Orders are shipped in a box with adequate protective packaging and a packing slip or invoice. Carrier insurance of up to $100 is included where provided by the shipping service.
Once your order ships, you will receive an email with tracking information so you can monitor your package while it is in transit.
Once your package has been transferred to the shipping carrier, Flute Feather Flower cannot be responsible for circumstances that occur during transit, including package loss, damaged or crushed boxes, freezing, overheating, weather-related delays, theft after delivery, or other carrier-related issues. If a problem occurs while your package is in transit, please contact the shipping carrier using the tracking information provided.
Combined Shipping
We are happy to combine eligible orders whenever possible.
- Orders will automatically be considered for combined shipping when the customer name, email address, and shipping address match.
- A $3 handling fee per additional order will be deducted from any combined-shipping refund to cover the time required to locate, reconcile, and combine separate orders.
- Any remaining excess shipping charges will be refunded after the orders are combined.
48-Hour Refund Policy
At Flute Feather Flower, we want you to receive healthy, viable dahlia tubers that you can enjoy throughout the growing season.
Our tubers are inspected for visible eyes and overall quality during the dividing and storage process and again before they are packed for shipment. Even with careful handling and inspection, occasionally a problem may occur.
If you receive a tuber in poor condition, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery, based on the carrier's tracking information.
How It Works
- Inspect all tubers promptly after your order arrives.
- If you discover a problem, email us at FluteFeatherFlower@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery.
- Include your name, order number, dahlia variety, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the affected tuber(s).
- We will review the information and let you know the appropriate next step.
- In some circumstances, a refund may require the affected tuber to be returned to Flute Feather Flower at buyers expense.
Storage Loss
Dahlia tubers are living plant material, and occasionally a tuber may not survive winter storage.
If a tuber you purchased does not survive storage or is otherwise determined to be unsuitable for shipment, Flute Feather Flower will contact you and refund the unavailable item.
If your entire order is unavailable, the applicable shipping charge will also be refunded.
Packaging or Order Errors
Please open and inspect your entire order as soon as it arrives.
Confirm that the quantities and varieties received match your order.
If your package contains a missing or incorrect variety, please contact us at FluteFeatherFlower@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery. Include:
- Your name
- Order number
- Details regarding the missing or incorrect item
- A clear photo of the contents of your order
We will review your message and our order records to determine the appropriate resolution. Depending on availability and the circumstances, the resolution may include a refund for a missing or incorrect tuber or shipment of the correct variety.
Final Sale After 48 Hours
All sales are considered final 48 hours after confirmed delivery.
Once tubers have been delivered and the 48-hour inspection period has passed, the buyer is responsible for appropriate storage, planting, growing conditions, and care.
Because dahlias are living plants and their performance can be affected by storage conditions, weather, soil, moisture, pests, disease, planting practices, and other environmental factors outside our control, refunds or replacements are not available for:
- Tubers that shrivel, rot, or die after the 48-hour inspection period and before planting
- Tubers that rot or die after planting
- Tubers that fail to sprout
- Plants that experience weak or stunted growth
- Plants that do not bloom
- Plants that do not produce additional tubers
- Plants or tubers that later exhibit signs of disease
Customer Conduct Policy
At Flute Feather Flower, we believe flowers should bring people together and that the dahlia community is at its best when growers, sellers, and customers treat one another with kindness and respect.
We ask that customer service concerns be brought directly to us so we have an opportunity to understand and address the issue. We expect communication between our business and our customers to remain respectful and courteous.
Popular dahlia varieties can sell quickly, and inventory from small growers is naturally limited. We work hard to make our sale process as fair as possible for everyone.
The use of automated purchasing bots or other methods intended to create an unfair purchasing advantage is not permitted. Flute Feather Flower reserves the right to cancel orders when we reasonably believe automated purchasing tools or other unfair purchasing methods were used.
We appreciate every customer who chooses to grow our flowers and helps support a welcoming, respectful, and thriving dahlia community.
Dahlia Health & Disease Policy
Growing healthy, beautiful dahlias and providing quality planting stock are important to Flute Feather Flower.
We take reasonable precautions throughout the growing, harvesting, dividing, storage, and packing processes to promote healthy plants and tubers. These practices may include:
- Regularly monitoring plants for visible signs of disease or abnormal growth
- Sanitizing cutting and dividing tools between plants
- Removing and disposing of plants showing concerning symptoms rather than adding them to compost
- Promoting healthy soil and responsible growing practices
- Managing pests to help reduce plant stress and potential disease transmission
Dahlias, like other living plants, can carry viruses without displaying visible symptoms. Because viruses may be present in otherwise healthy-looking plants and because growing conditions and disease exposure can change over time, Flute Feather Flower cannot guarantee that any dahlia tuber or plant is completely free of viruses or other pathogens.
Our goal is to provide healthy, vigorous planting stock while being transparent about the realities associated with growing and selling live plant material.
By purchasing dahlia tubers from Flute Feather Flower, the customer acknowledges that dahlias are living plant material and that, despite reasonable growing and sanitation practices, a completely disease-free or virus-free guarantee cannot be provided.
